The distinctive voice of Fran Lusty hits perfectly in this new track, a collaboration with writer Rosie Shaw and producer Bailey Hopton. Wembley is a song about remaining grounded and honest by those gigs where none of the audience seem to be paying attention - we all dislike moments like these, but they certainly do remind us that we have to still keep working at it, no matter how long we've been doing it. Naturally, anyone putting their own music out there is seeking some sort of validation, even if they profess to write primarily for themselves (that's what I always say, but of course I want everyone else to like my songs too!). The song opens with background pub noise, relevant to the subject, and kicks in with stripped back acoustic guitar and smooth, breathy lead vocal. An additional vocal joins in half way through the first verse, then the chorus brings in gentle drums - including, apparently, the sound of ripped paper - bass and various pads and backing vocals. As the song progresses, it builds into a beautifully full, expanded sound which pares back to the original acoustic sound towards the end. The closing lines hit hard; 'I wanna be famous' repeatedly ringing in my ears and by the time the song ends, I feel like I really want this for her too.
