Woodruff - Does She Know?

 

Emerging from Bognor Regis, Woodruff are the funk band you never knew you needed in your life. 'Does she know?' is a song that explores the emotion of falling for someone who stands out as authentic among a crowd of people hiding behind a mask. Sandwiched between outtakes (who doesn't like a good outtake?) this song brings the funk with bass, drums and guitar that work so well to provide a backdrop to the beautifully layered harmonies. Woodruff do all of their own production in a back garden shed which makes it all the more impressive to be serving up this level of quality in both songwriting and sound. I do wonder who the object of their affection is, and whether she knows that she's been referred to as 'hot candy'!
